Abstract:

This is a complete moddbox build blog on a 2003 Ranger 4×4 4.0L Manual.  The blog includes other non-Moddbox upgrades but it gives some helpful feedback.

Comments:

“Finally got the right amount of drive, time, and nice weather to get this thing going. Its the Moddbox 3.5psi kit.  Really clean and mostly straight forward. The moddbox kit calls out about 10hrs complete install time. due to rusted bed bolts and other small issues here and there i finished in 23hrs. better late then never. Let the truck porn begin!”

“Went on a camping trip over the weekend. truck was fully loaded and i managed to get 18.5mpg mostly highway as opposed to 16.6 on my last highway trip before the super. i’m pretty excited about that considering i’m rolling around on 33’s”

Abstract:

This is a short blog on another Ranger.  Customer shares some feedback and provides recommendations.

Comments:

The supercharger install went well, and I haven’t had any problems. I am only running the 3.5 psi pulley with no tune. But I do have the intercooler, which helps. Bleeding it is quite difficult since I didn’t use the bleeders on the inner radiator while it was exposed. Down the road, I plan on getting a tune, larger injectors, and putting on the 7.5 psi pulley that I already have from moddbox. I recommend Moddbox for any ranger supercharging needs. They have great customer service and expertise, and have a high quality product.” – Sempertye

“You have a kit too? And Yea i really liked the looks of the ModdBox kit, kinda wishing more of the machining was visible after installation but oh well…” – Cam615

“I’ve had the rpcaster kit for over a year sitting in the garage. I’ve debated selling it and buying the moddbox one. Since that one came out after I already had mine.” – CamoDown

Comments:

Feels rad and sounds better, has a nice whine!  The biggest difference has been pulling hills. the truck does not down shift nearly as much going upgrades. and it has some great get up and go getting on the freeway again.  For just 3.0 PSI it has made a great difference in how the truck drives. I am very pleased with the results and with some tuning it should get even better. – mikeridermikerider
